Visitors can Explore the Wave Route by visiting Oyster Bay, Cape St Francis, St Francis Bay and Port St Francis, Aston Bay, Paradise Beach, Jeffreys Bay and the Gamtoos River Mouth; Experience the Gamtoos Valley by driving the scenic R102 between Thornhill, Loerie, Hankey, Patensie into the Baviaanskloof Wilderness Area; or Discover the Culture by visiting Humansdorp and other points of interest throughout the Kouga.
Holidaymakers from across the globe come to enjoy the beautiful golden beaches and variety of attractions. Excellent water-sport facilities are available in the canal systems, rivers and in the ocean.
Surfers are drawn here by legendary waves, often joined by playful dolphins.
Whales can be seen close to shore during winter and spring, and some good fishing spots can be found off the rocks. Plenty routes are available for mountainbikers, trail runners and hikers.
Our friendly neighbours are the famous Tsitsikamma, the Langkloof, the Baviaans, Karoo, Addo and of course the Sunshine Coast with the friendly city of Port Elizabeth a mere hour’s drive away, and a drive via the Garden Route to Cape Town will take you up to eight hours.
